Kenneth King, age 84 of Marshalltown, Iowa and formerly of Schaller, Iowa died September 21, 2012 in Marshalltown.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Schaller. Burial will be in the Schaller Cemetery. Visitation will take place Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller is in charge of the arrangements.
Kenneth Harrison King was born May 13, 1928 in Schaller the son of Harry and Lora Alice (Ferguson) King. Growing up, he attended Eureka Township School District #1 and graduated from Schaller High School in 1946. Following high school graduation, Kenneth attended Iowa State University where he earned a degree in Farm Operations in 1951.
In 1951, Kenneth enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany until he was honorably discharged in 1953. Upon his return, Kenneth started Buehler and King International Harvester Dealership in Schaller.
On November 13, 1960, Kenneth was united in marriage to Leona Breuklander at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Kenneth was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Schaller where he served as an Elder. He was also a member of Sac County Pork Producers and served on the Schaller Co-op Elevator and Sac County Conservation Board of Directors.
Kenneth began farming in 1967. He treasured his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons: John (Kathy) Breuklander of Forest City, Iowa; Reverend Dr. Richard (Valerie) King of Marshalltown, Iowa; grandchildren: Shawn (Jessica) Breuklander of Estherville, Iowa; Stacey Breuklander of Mankato, Minnesota; Anastasia, Bryce, Carissa, and Drew King all of Marshalltown, Iowa; brothers: Jim King of California; Harold (Marilyn) King of Schaller, Iowa; Ronald (Clare) King of Bellevue, Washington; extended family and friends.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Alice; wife, Leona King; and daughter, Sally Ann King.
The family has requested the memorials be directed to the First Presbyterian Church in Schaller, Iowa.
