Fisher/Emerson announces recent promotions

Ed Merwald has been promoted to vice president, Global Project Management. Project business is growing and represents about one third of the company's total business currently. Based on that, a new project management office was formed to allow Fisher to continually improve performance to its customer base. He is a mechanical engineering graduate of the University of Nebraska, and has held leadership roles in the power industry, as global projects director, as Vice President, Sales Development and Support and most recently leading Fisher's Engineered Products business unit.

Replacing Merwald as Vice President, Engineered Products will be Tom Ruddock. He will be returning to Marshalltown from his current role as Vice President/General Manager Asia Pacific in October. He earned his engineering degree from Texas A&M University and joined Fisher in 1984.

Doug Butler has been promoted into the role of Vice President, Global Parts Business. Doug worked as the Vice President, Sales- North America for the past 10 years. He has extensive knowledge of the Fisher customer base and sales network. Doug graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia with a degree in Industrial Engineering.

Replacing Butler in his current Vice President, North America Sales role will be Tim Erman. For the past four years Erman served as the Director, Business Development for Instrument & Valve Services, the service arm of the Fisher business unit. He received his BS in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri-Rolla.

Mark Henson has been promoted to Director, Sales- Instrument & Valve Services. He comes to the role from the Director, Power/OEM Industries position where he has spent the past four years. Mark is a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Chemical Engineering and has been employed by Emerson since 1996. Additionally, he received his MBA from the University of Iowa in 2008.

Bruce Grumstrup has been promoted to the position of Vice President, FIELDVUE and Positioning Instruments. This promotion recognizes his leadership in the success of the FIELDVUE product family. Grumstrup began his career in Fisher Industry Sales after obtaining his BSEE degree from Iowa State University in 1975.
