AGWSR takes over fourth in NICL West volleyball

ACKLEY - AGWSR jumped in front in the race for fourth place in the NICL West with a 3-1 victory over South Hardin in Tuesday's play, beating the visiting Tigers 20-25, 25-16, 25-18, 28-26.

The Cougars (7-19, 3-3) were led by Ella Frazier, who had 18 kills on a whopping 38 attempts. Shelbi Nederhoff added nine kills, Molly Boheman had seven and Kristen Zacharias six. Setter Jayne Wiarda accumulated 41 assists.

Nederhoff served 24-for-27 to lead AGWSR, while Olivia Ingledue had a team-best 12 digs. Nederhoff and Wiarda both made two blocks.

Ellen Swartz led South Hardin (6-13, 2-4) with 14 kills, Kayla Prosser added 11 and Sarah Boomgarden nine. Prosser totaled 33 assists while Alaina Lake led the way with 19 digs. Prosser served 20-for-21 with three aces, while Lake was 16-for-16 with four aces.

Prosser and Haley Lawrence led the Tigers with four blocks apiece.

North Tama 3, Meskwaki Settlement 0

TRAER - North Tama swept visiting Meskwaki in Iowa Star Conference action late Tuesday, winning 25-20, 25-9, 25-16.

The Redhawks (11-11, 4-3) were led by Allie Zobel's 13 kills, and Shannon Stuart added five. Aryn Isenhower finished with 21 assists, while Frankie Krienert led with six digs. Isenhower had 10 aces on 20-of-23 serving.

Jaylynn Bear paced Meskwaki (3-16, 2-7) with four kills while Kadyn Clark and Dia Keahna had two kills apiece. Clark added three digs and four blocks while serving 8-for-8 with four aces.
