WATERLOO - A 25-year-old Traer man who broke out of Black Hawk County jail while awaiting trial has been sentenced to prison.
Jeremy Mask was given 15 years for escape, burglary, robbery and operating a vehicle without consent.
The robbery charge stemmed from an April crime in Black Hawk County. The rest of the charges stemmed from his July 12 escape.
Mask also has been sentenced to 10 years in prison on drug charges and a robbery of a pharmacy in Tama County after his escape.
Authorities say Mask escaped jail by sneaking down an interior fire escape during a construction project.
He was captured the next day south of La Porte City, after a vehicle chase.
