Antonio Soto Solano, 3202 S. 12th St. Lot #119, made an initial appearance through an interpreter on a operating while intoxicated charge and a harassment of a public official charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 2. Soto Solano was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered that he obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date.
Kara Isenhower, of St. Anthony, made an initial appearance on a serious domestic abuse charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 2. Isenhower was released on her own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party. The court ordered that if she possessed any firearms or ammunition that she make arrangements to turn them over to the Marshall County Sheriff.
Mario Murillo, of Haverhill, made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for sentencing on a operating while intoxicated, second offense charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The sentencing hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 23 in District Associate Court. Bond is set at $7,500 cash only.
Misty Marie Philo, 10 W. Webster St., made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $10 DARE fee, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $282.75, due immediately. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Nov. 13 until the debt is completed.
Victor Saravia-Garcia, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. He pleaded guilty to the driving under suspension charge and the fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due immediately. On the no insurance charge the charge was dropped when proof of insurance was produced with court costs of $60 assessed, due immediately.

On Saturday, Quinten Woolery, 608 Arlington Dr., reported the theft of a Razor Scooter from 600 S. 6th St. Estimated value of loss was $100. The scooter was subsequently recovered.
On Friday, Leandra Larae Haughey, 204 Helm St., reported the theft of a Nintendo DSi from her residence. Estimated value of loss was $200.
On Wednesday, Jill Daugherty, 709 W. Boone St. (Half), reported hit and run damage to the driver side rear tail light and bumper on a Jeep Grand Cherokee while parked at her residence. Estimated value of damage was $1,400.
On Oct. 9, an employee with Caldwell Bankers Real Estate, 2003 S. Center St., reported the theft of a Rubbermaid storage shed. Estimated value of loss was $600.

On Sunday, a pickup driven by Gary Lee Blanchard, 1205 S. 9th Ave., was southbound in the 800 block of South Third Avenue at the intersection with East Anson Street when it entered the intersection with a flashing red light after stopping and collided with a vehicle driven by Ashley Marie Ladehoff, 3115 130th St., which was traveling east and already into the intersection. No injuries were reported. Blanchard was cited for failure to respond to a steady read signal. Damage to the Blanchard pickup was estimated at $1,500 while the Ladehoff vehicle received an estimated $2,500 in damage.
On Friday, a car driven by Marlys Ava Montz, 1112 W. Nevada St., was attempting to park in a parking spot at Dollar General, 409 S. 9th St., when it hit the gas instead of the break and struck a concrete pole. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Montz car was estimated at $2,500 while the concrete pole received $10 in damage.
On Wednesday, a vehicle driven by Joy Belle Barker, 512 S. 7th Ave., was northbound on South Sixth Street approaching the intersection with Westwood Drive when it entered the intersection without stopping and collided with a car driven by June Alice Oleson, 1009 Prairie Lane, which was traveling west through the intersection. Oleson was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Barker was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended. Damage to the Barker vehicle was estimated at $2,000 while the Oleson car received an estimated $5,000 in damage.
