Ruopp joins local law firm

The law firm of Moore, McKibben, Goodman & Lorenz, LLP announced that Brandon Ruopp has joined the firm. Ruopp graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law in May and recently passed the Iowa Bar Examination. Ruopp is a graduate of East Marshall High School and Simpson College in Indianola. He served active duty in the U.S. Army as well as the U.S. Army Reserve. He and his wife Jeana now reside in Marshalltown.

Elise Fiscus began her Iowa State University Extension and Outreach AmeriCorps position recently, which serves Boone, Hardin, Marshall and Story Counties for one year to expand 4-H Youth Development programming in the counties.

The Iowa State of Promise AmeriCorps Program is a unique partnership between AmeriCorps and Iowa's Promise designed to ensure the success of our children and youth. Iowa's Promise is a state level initiative of America's Promise whose mission is to mobilize people from every sector of American life to build the character and competence of youth and ensure that all young people have access to the five fundamental resources they need to succeed.

Fiscus is a Marshall County 4-H alum. She was involved in a variety of 4-H project areas including food and nutrition, photography, visual arts, communications, beef, swine, and home improvement. She gained leadership skills while on the County 4-H Council.

Fiscus was selected as the 2007 Central Iowa Fair Queen to represent Marshall County at the state level and throughout the year at events. Elise also has international service learning experience from volunteering in Cuba, Tanzania and India. She received her Associate of Arts degree at Ellsworth Community College and her Bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in Culinary Science and is currently taking classes at Aveda in Des Moines.
