Tuesday

Scott Kempker, of Iowa Falls, made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. The court appointed Jenny Wilson-Moore to represent in this case. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled as the calendar permits. No bond was allowed in this case.

Kara Ann Isenhower, of Eldora, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge and a violation of a no-contact order charge. She pleaded guilty to the public intoxication charge and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due immediately. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Nov. 20 until the debt is completed or in lieu of the fine and surcharge she may do 12 hours of community service plus pay the court costs to be completed by Feb. 28, 2013. On the violation of the no-contact order the contempt hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 29. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The bond is set at $1,000 cash only. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party. If Isenhower possesses any firearms or ammunition she is make arrangements to turn them over to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.

Antonio Ibarra Meza, 303 Sharon Ave., made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order charge. The court appointed Dalton Kidd to represent in this case. The contempt hearing is set for 11 a.m. on Oct. 29. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. The court ordered that if Ibarra Meza possessed any firearms or ammunition he is to make arrangements to turn them over to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office. A new no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Adam Scott Leiva, 108 1/2 S. 3rd St., made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a no insurance charge and a open container charge. He pleaded guilty to all three charges. On the driving under suspension and no insurance charges the fines were $250 with a $87.50 surcharge on each and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 for each charge, due immediately. The fine on the open container charge was $200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330, due immediately. On the driving under suspension charge the court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Nov. 20 until the debt is completed or in lieu of the fine and surcharge he may complete 46 hours of community service plus pay the court costs to be completed by April 30, 2013. The monthly installment payment plan may be used for both the no insurance and open container financial charges.

Stephen Schossow, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a contempt hearing charge. The court appointed Norma Meade to represent him in this matter before the court. The contempt hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Nov. 29. Bond is set at $500 cash only.

Weekend

Cyndee Darrow, of Melbourne, made an initial appearance on a operation without owner's consent charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 13. Darrow was released through the Department of Correctional Services and is to contact them within 24 hours of release.

Molli Kaye Bisson, 1108 W. Iowa Ave. #14, made an initial appearance on a theft, third-degree charge and a possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, marijuana, third or subsequent charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Oct. 31. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. If the bond is posted, Bisson is to report to the Department of Correctional Services.

Heather Lynn Bell, 510 N. 15th Ave., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred-habitual offender charge, a possession of a controlled substance charge and a unlawful possession of prescription drugs charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Oct. 30. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. If the bond is posted, Bell is to report to the Department of Correctional Services.

Chester Brown, 512 N. 15th Ave., made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse-strangulation charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 9. Brown was released through the Department of Correctional Services and is to contact them within 48 hours.

Humberto Zamora, 210 N. 15th St., made an initial appearance on a possession of a Schedule I controlled substance with the intent to deliver charge and a possession of a Schedule II controlled substance charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Oct. 30. Bond is set at $50,000 cash or surety. If the bond is posted, Zamora is report to the Department of Correctional Services.

Joel Riley, 1604 W. State St., made an initial appearance on a simple assault charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due immediately.

Pah Lu Paw, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due immediately.

Tyler Williams Weers, 404 Melody Lane Apt. #3, made an initial appearance on a theft fifth-degree charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due immediately.

John Vivian Sims Jr., 106 Santa Barbara Dr., made an initial appearance on a violation of probation charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The scheduling hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Oct. 23 and the probation revocation hearing is set for 11 a.m. on Nov. 14. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

Wednesday

Ricky Dale Harms Jr., 3225 Marshalltown Boulevard, made an initial appearance on a failure to appear on a theft fifth-degree charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due immediately. The court condemned the bond paid to cover the costs charged with the remainder going back to the payee. Harms also made an appearance on a carrying weapons charge, a possession of crystal meth enhanced charge, a possession of marijuana charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The court appointed the public defender's office to handle these cases pending before the court. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 2. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. If bond is posted, the court ordered that Harms obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of release.

Stephanie Webber, 306 1/2 Bromley St. Apt. #5, made an initial appearance on a probation revocation charge due to new violations that occurred during probation. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The probation revocation hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 26. The court reminded Webber to abide by the regulations of her probation during this time. Webber was released on her own recognizance.

Oct. 18

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on East Anson Street, a motor vehicle accident involving no injuries on South Center Street and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 514 S. 4th St., 1306 W. Church St., 101 W. Iowa Ave., South Third Avenue, 1408 S. 1st St., and 3202 S. 12th St.

Oct. 19

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 105 N. 10th Ave., a smoke detector activation due to malfunction at 8 N. 7th Ave., and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 2322 S. 5th Ave., 1211 W. State St., and 711 W. State St.

Saturday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unauthorized burning at 311 W. Madison St., and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1700 S. Center St., 119 E. State St., 2500 S. Center St., and 122 W. Main St.

Sunday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to three unauthorized burnings at: 906 W. Nevada St., 322 Harrison Dr., and 206 N. 2nd S., a natural vegetation fire at 1802 S. 7th Ave., and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 2011 Skyline Dr., 407 Bromley St., and 106 N. 5th St.
