Ellie Hernandez doesn't just get her school work done in a timely fashion, she also lends a hand to her fellow students if she notices they are struggling.

Hernandez, 9, is a third grade student at Marshalltown Area Catholic School St. Mary's attendance center.

"It is very helpful that I know that she will be on task and she is willing and able to help others," said her teacher, Jenny Sickles. "She is a good example for others to follow."
