Judy Davis is the mother of a son, Johnny Ryan Ray Davis, born at 5:12 a.m. on Oct. 21 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Welcoming Johnny home are big sister Madison Bartell and big brother Ricky Davis. Grandparents are Rick and Leila Davis, of Albion.

Eddie and Tessa Johnson, of Waterloo, are the parents of a son, Grayson Oliver Johnson, born at 7:21 a.m. Oct. 28 at Allen Hospital in Waterloo weighing 8 pounds 1.5 ounces and measuring 22 inches long. Grayson joins brother Carter. Grandparents are Mike and Mary Johnson, of Marshalltown. Great-grandparents are Clayton and Jean Johnson, of Marshalltown.

Thursday

Corey Duane Thompson, of Victor, made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge by incurring new charges. The probation revocation hearing is set for 9 a.m. on Nov. 21. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

Scott Mauritzen, 106 N. 4th St., made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due immediately. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Nov. 29 until the debt is paid.

Jason Wayne Mull, 501 S. 6th St., made an initial appearance on a violation of pre-trial release charge. Randy Giannetto who was previously appointed will continue with this case. The pre-trial conference is set for 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 and the trial is set for 9 a.m. on Dec. 13. The posted bond of $2,000 will take the place of the previous release with supervision.

Beau Allen Malcolm, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a fraudulent practice fifth-degree charge and a theft third-degree charge. On the driving under suspension charge he pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Nov. 27 in Magistrate Court. Malcolm pleaded guilty to the fraudulent practice fifth-degree charge and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due immediately. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Nov. 29 until the debt is paid. On the theft third-degree charge a preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 20. Malcolm was released on his own recognizance.

Friday

Ngor Malek Kuanj, address unknown, made an initial appearance on three separate counts of a probation violation charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases before the court. The probation revocation hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 26. Bond on all three is $5,000 cash or surety.

Zachary Plaehn, of Dunbar, made an initial appearance on a theft fourth-degree charge. He will represent himself before the court. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 21. Plaehn was released on his own recognizance.

Jose Cervantes Reynosa, 1110 S. 4th St., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 21. Cervantes Reynosa was released on his own recognizance.

Anthony Chandler, 418 N. 5th St., made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a operating while intoxicated first-offense charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 21. Chandler was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered him to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days.

Kinzi Mueller, of Kellogg, made an initial appearance on a carrying weapons charge, a theft fifth-degree charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a disorderly conduct charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 21. Mueller was released with supervision and is to report to the adult probation office within 72 hours to sign a pre-trial agreement.

Jedidiah Boyd, 1009 S. 6th Ave., made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge and a failure to use headlamps when required charge. He will represent himself before the court. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 21. Boyd was released on his own recognizance.

Jaramya Campbell, of Webster City, made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge and a public urination charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. The fine on both charges was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 for each charge, due immediately. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Nov. 30 until the debt is paid.

Julie Ann Rodriguez, of Melbourne, made an initial appearance on a theft third-degree charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 21. Rodriguez was released on her own recognizance.

Ana Gudino, 502 N. Center St., made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a hearing charge. The judge ordered further proceedings for 1 p.m. on Nov. 19.

On Wednesday, Silvestre Vargas-Gonzalez, 2306 Dubois Circle, reported the theft of cash in the amount of $500.

On Sunday, Michael Youngbear, 502 E. Main St. Apt. #4, reported the theft of a Droid Razr Maxx cell phone from 916 E. Main St. Estimated value of loss was $300.

On Monday, Edith Villalobos-Cruz, 7 S. 4th St., reported the theft of a 1995 Mitsubishi Galant parked near her residence. Estimated value of loss was $1,500.

On Monday, Ashley Marie Yoemans, 9 N. 9th Ave., reported damage to a driver's side window on a 1998 Chrysler Sebring while parked at her residence and the theft of a Pioneer CD car stereo and two cell phones. Estimated value of loss was $500.

Accidents

On Wednesday, a vehicle driven by Vanessa Lee Jongma, 3202 S. 12th St. Lot #158, was southbound on 10th Street stopped at the stop sign at the intersection West State Street when it attempted to turn left onto State Street and collided with a vehicle driven by Jana Markay Mitchem, 1402 S. 3rd Ave., which was traveling east on State Street. No injuries were reported. Jongma was cited for no insurance and failure to obey a stop sign and yield right of way. Damage to the Jongma vehicle was estimated at $500 while the Mitchem vehicle received an estimated $1,800 in damage.

On Wednesday, a car driven by Velma Aleta Sheller, 109 S. 8th St., was eastbound on East Main Street at the intersection with First Avenue when it rolled through the stop sign and collided with a truck driven by Christopher Jon Heiden, of Nevada, which was traveling north on First Avenue. No injuries were reported. Sheller was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Damage to the Sheller car was estimated at $2,000.

Monday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a passenger vehicle fire at 412 E. Church St., a natural vegetation fire at 2007 Catalina Place, and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 503 E. Linn St., 112 N. 3rd St., and 511 E. Church St.

Tuesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two outside rubbish fires at 406 Hughes St., and 602 E. Anson St., a service call to 2500 S. Center St., and a smoke detector activation-no fire-unintentional at 1602 S. 2nd Ave.

Wednesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched-cancelled en route to 3200 Vance Ave., a passenger vehicle fire on South Center Street and a medical assist with the EMS crew to 1500 Lincoln Towers Circle.

Incidents

On Monday, Kayla Alexis Amundson, 204 N. 1st St., reported the theft of a 2001 Ford Focus from 210 First St., Haverhill. Estimated value of loss was $4,500.

On Oct. 22, Renae Jean Mason, of Le Grand, reported damage to the front door at her residence and the theft of a Hisense TV and a Kirby vacuum cleaner. Estimated value of loss was $1,900.

Arrests

On Wednesday, Erika Dawn Bracy, of Albion, was arrested for failure to appear.

On Monday, Shanya Joy Lindsey, of Grinnell, was arrested for probation violation.

On Monday, Danny Hap Darrow, of State Center, was arrested for violation of no-contact order.

On Oct. 27, Stacy Ann Lewis, 308 Pleasantview Rd., was arrested for operating under the influence second-offense.

On Oct. 23, Molli Kaye Bisson, 301 S. 4th Ave. Apt. #2, was arrested for violation of probation.

On Oct. 20, Cynthia Lou Darrow, of Melbourne, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent.

Accident

On Wednesday, a car driven by Kendall Ann Evans, of State Center, was southbound on Cooper Avenue when it struck a deer on the front driver's side that had exited the west ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Evans car was estimated at $3,500.

On Thursday, a car driven by Mark Allen Smith, of Newton, was northbound on Reed Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway from the east ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Smith car was estimated at $3,000.

On Wednesday, a pickup driven by William Alexander Atcher, of Gilman, was eastbound on 330th Street when it crossed the center line, entered the north ditch, collided with the west ditch embankment on Vance Avenue and came to rest facing northeast partially in the southbound lane of Vance Avenue. Atcher was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with injuries. Damage to the Atcher pickup was estimated at $10,000.
