Myers joins the Iowa Business Council

Robert J. Myers, President and CEO of Casey's General Stores, Inc., has accepted an invitation to join the Iowa Business Council. Council membership consists of the top executives of 22 of Iowa's largest employers, the three Regent university presidents and the CEO of Iowa's largest banking association.

Stan Askren, IBC chair and chairman, president, and CEO of HNI Corporation in Muscatine said, "The Iowa Business Council is pleased to have the leader of another Fortune 500 company join its ranks. Bob has an impressive record of success within Casey's, elevating the company to the top of its industry. He will serve the Council well in the important work that lies ahead for Iowa to maintain a competitive position in the world marketplace."

Myers is a Des Moines native and decorated U.S. Army veteran whose career with Casey's General Stores started in 1988.

Brus receives award from Iowa Realtors

Denison Realtor, Tracy Brus received the President's Special Recognition Award at the Iowa Association of Realtors Inaugural Gala held this fall in Ames.

Each year the current IAR president has the opportunity to recognize an individual who was extremely important to their presidency. 2012 President Dale Gross says that he chose Brus for the award for many reasons, including her willingness to tackle any task that helps the IAR or her local board.

Brus has been a licensed realtor since 1987 and is an associate broker at Denison Realty, where she has worked for the past 20 years. Brus is active in the IAR.

She is also very active on her local board, the West Central Board of Realtors. She is the current board president, serving her third term in this position, and has held various other leadership roles.

In addition, Brus is involved in her community through the Chamber of Commerce and her local church as a youth leader and choir member.

Great Western Bank named a top lender

The U.S. Small Business Administration recently recognized Great Western Bank as a top lender in the state of Iowa for Fiscal Year 2012.

Great Western Bank approved 27 SBA guaranteed loans worth over $16.3 million to small businesses in Iowa. With 46 branch locations and deposits in excess of $1.5 billion, Great Western Bank is the 5th largest financial institution in the state.

True to a "Community Banking Focus," Great Western Bank is the lender for Iowa's 2012 Small Business Person of the Year; Tim Greene of Quality Machine of Iowa, Inc., located in Audubon, Iowa.
