It wasn't too long ago we had a city engineer that wanted the stop light at Ingledue and South Sixth Street removed to speed up the traffic flow in and out of town. Safety didn't seem to be an issue with the council back then and they did away with the stop light. Now we have a city engineer that wants to put a stop sign on South Sixth Street and West Merle Hibbs Boulevard. This will be interesting to see what side of their mouth council members are talking from. I think before they decide to put in a stop sign maybe they should think of putting in rumble strips on Merle Hibbs Boulevard coming onto Sixth Street.
