What an amazing community that we live in. Ken and I felt so blessed with the outpouring of support from our church family, family, friends, Nevada Community School co-workers, Consumers Energy co-workers, members of this community and the Marshalltown area.
Going through a catastrophic illness is very hard on any family. When my kidneys failed last year, I wondered how we would make it. I knew one thing, and that is my faith would help me be stronger, and my friends and family would help lift me up.
We would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all who came to the benefit on Oct. 26. We were overwhelmed by the kindness and love shown to us.
A special thanks to Sheri Harrison, Lori Trygstad, Kate Huse, Elizebeth Gindt and Sue Sheeler for organizing the event and all their hard work on our behalf. A big thank you to Rick Dolash and the Consumers Energy crew and board members for their constant support.
Thank you also to everyone who gave to the silent auction. I have no idea who you are, but you have made a difference in our lives.
What is a community? It is people like you who come together to help people in need without question and with true love. I will get better and I will continue to pay it forward.
