Amy M. Bryngelson, 100, of Toledo, IA formerly of LeGrand, IA passed away Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Carrington Place of Toledo. Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Stavanger Friends Church in rural LeGrand. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. until the time of the services at the church. Interment will be at the Stavanger Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her name. The Main St. Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Amy was born on October 4, 1912 in Melbourne, Iowa, the daughter Wm H & Dena (Jacobs) Slocum. She attended school in Melbourne and Marshalltown, Iowa. On November 1, 1930, she married Leslie C Bryngelson in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They lived in Dunbar and Le Grand area. Amy belonged to the Stavanger Friends Church in Le Grand, Iowa and was a member of the Stavanger sewing club for many years. She also assisted with Bible school. She enjoyed baby sitting the neighbor children, had a large garden, and liked to sew. She worked at Lloyds restaurant in Marshalltown as hostess, assisted her husband with farming and worked in the Executive dining room at Fisher Control 10 years in Marshalltown, Iowa. Her husband and she enjoyed traveling. They lived in Le Grand for 26 years and Amy moved to Toledo Grandview Apartments in 2001.
Amy will be missed by her son, Clarence of St. Petersburg, Florida and eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leslie in 1998, a daughter, Marian in 1997, a brother Rily in 1981.
