Ensuring that Marshalltown's less fortunate have gloves, hats, mittens and scarves for Iowa winters is a priority for Marshalltown's Edward Jones offices.

For the third consecutive year, the company will collect new or gently used children and adult's items, said Linda Ames, office administrator for Edward Jones financial advisor Zach Wahl.

The public is encouraged to drop off items at one of four local Edward Jones offices now through Dec. 15, Ames said. They are: 16 E. Main St. (City Centre) 20 S. First Ave., 507 W. High St., Ste. B, and 2500 S. Center St., Ste. LO203 (next to Radio Shack).

Joining the trio in the 2012 campaign is Edward Jones financial advisor Shanna Turner.

Office hours are 8 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The items will be donated the 15th to Marshalltown's Caring Center, Inc., a not-for-profit organization which disburses clothing and small appliances free-of-charge to those in need.

Demand was high for the items in 2010 and 2011, said CCI volunteer Mary Ann Wiberg.

Items were donated by company clients and the public in the two previous campaigns.

"We are asking residents in the Marshalltown area to support this project generously as they have in past years," Ames said.

Company financial advisors Dan Burns, Wahl and Bruce Wirin, who participated previously, are excited that Financial Advisor Shanna Turner will be part of the team.

Turner opened her office earlier this year.

"I'm pleased to have the opportunity to join Dan, Bruce and Zach in this worthwhile project," Turner said.
