Eunice Chaplin, age 93, of Iowa Falls, died on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Scenic Manor Nursing Home in Iowa Falls. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Alden with burial in the Alden Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Alden. Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
Eunice E. Chaplin was born on July 21, 1919 in rural Hardin County, the daughter of Wesley L. and Lucille Needham Wilkie. She attended rural schools graduating from Iowa Falls High School in 1937. In 1952, Eunice was united in marriage to G. Keith Wilson in Waterloo, Iowa. He died April 6, 1967. On June 14th, 1968, Eunice and LaVere Chaplin were married in Menominee, MI. LaVere died June 11, 1991. Eunice lived on the same farm for 41 year where she actively participated in the farming operations. She served as secretary for two years and treasurer for three years for the United Methodist UMW. Eunice was a member of the Elks Lodge in Iowa Falls and also enjoyed playing Bridge.
She is survived by two sisters Beverly Chaplin of Hubbard, IA and Marlys Hansen of Story City, IA, and a sister-in-law Charlene Wilkie of Alden, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and two brothers Leonard Wilkie and Merle Wilkie.
She is also survived by Paul and Darlene Hatcher and their family.
