Matt Tullis will wake up before the sun rises Friday morning, but he won't be hunting for bargains.
No, the Marshalltown resident will be running 26.2 miles as part of an indoor marathon to benefit the YMCA-YWCA's Partner With Youth Campaign.
The Marshalltown schools Equity Director will do 650 push-ups and 130 pull-ups to go along with running 314 laps around the Y track for the marathon.

Matt Tullis will run an indoor marathon at the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA on the day after Thanksgiving. His run will benefit the Y’s Partner With Youth program.
"I was looking for a new goal and probably would have done this anyway," Tullis said. "It seemed like a good idea to raise awareness for the Partners With Youth Campaign and tie it in. Working for the schools, I see the good it does for the community."
He will start the run at 5 a.m. and do 25 push-ups and five pull-ups between each mile ran. Tullis, an avid runner who has completed nine marathons in his life, expects to finish this marathon by 9:30 a.m.
Whatever calories from holiday fixings Tullis eats on Thanksgiving should be burnt off by the next day. He also won't miss wading through long lines in the stores on Black Friday.
