Iowa senior center Morgan Johnson had a dominant week on the basketball floor and has been rewarded by the Big Ten Conference for her efforts.
Johnson averaged 20 points, 9.5 rebounds and shot 76 percent from the floor against two opponents who are receiving votes in the weekly national polls.
And her efforts also helped the Hawkeyes reach the championship game in the Preseason WNIT where they eventually lost to North Carolina on Sunday.
Johnson began her week with a 20-point, eight-rebound effort against Middle Tennessee, helping the Hawkeyes win in overtime. She followed that up with her 13th career double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds against the Tar Heels.
It was the second time in her career that she has won a weekly Big Ten Conference honor. She also was named Big Ten Player of the Week after scoring 37 points against Bradley last season.
The Hawkeyes will have a quick turnaround, playing host to Robert Morris at 7 p.m. Tuesday from Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
