Madelyn Graff is showing tremendous leadership as a second grade student at Fisher Elementary School.

It's no surprise then that one day she wants to lead an entire class as a teacher.

Graff, 8, said she loves to learn new things, which is why she is attentive and ready to go each day. Her teacher, Shannon Johnson, said she is a great role model for other students and a very good leader.

Madelyn Graff reads to her second grade teacher Shannon Johnson last week in a classroom at Fisher Elementary School.

"Her peers are noticing that she is a leader academically and a great friend to all," Johnson said.

Her teacher also has noticed the way Graff has compassion for others.

"I watch her interact with all students in our classroom and she has such a wonderful gentleness about her," Johnson said. "I adore that in such a young lady."
