FAA: One killed in plane crash near Clutier

CLUTIER - One person was killed and another severely injured in a small plane crash in Tama County Wednesday morning.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Elizabeth Cory said two people were aboard the plane; one was pronounced dead at the scene and another airlifted to a hospital.

The plane was a Taylorcraft BC12, a small single engine plane.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash, which occurred at approximately 11 a.m. The person killed in the crash will be identified by local officials, Cory said. No names were released at press time.

FAA records show the plane was registered to William Konicek, of Traer.
