Police have identified the woman who died in a car collision Thursday as Patricia Pennell, 33, of Melbourne.
Marshall County Medical Examiner Dr. David Bethel pronounced Pennell dead at the scene of a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Highland Acres Road and West Lincoln Way in Marshalltown.
Pennell was the only passenger in a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Jordan Wasem, 19, of Waverly. When the Grand Prix collided with a Ford Econoline, the van rolled from the road, injuring the 10 men and two women, ages 25 to 53, inside, said Capt. Mike Hanken, with the Marshalltown Police Department.
Paramedics transported the driver of the van, Aroro Titi, 28, of Des Moines, along with the others to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center for treatment of various minor injuries, Hanken said.
The crash did not injure Wasem, but paramedics admitted him to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
Police still know few details surrounding a crash - who hit whom, whether passengers were wearing their seatbelts, which direction the vehicles were traveling and the people's relationship to one another.
The MPD will continue to investigate the crash.
