FARGO, N.D. - Celebrating her 21st birthday in style, Morgan Reid poured in 14 points and nine rebounds as the Drake women's basketball team defeated North Dakota State 62-50 at the Bison Sports Arena Thursday.
Trailing 11-9 at the first media timeout, the Bulldogs (3-4) rallied with a 10-0 run with Carly Grenfell capping the surge with a pair of treys. Grenfell finished with nine points on three triples and Kyndal Clark added 11 points, six rebounds, six steals and five assists for the Bulldogs.
Converting 14 of 26 field goals (53.8 percent) in the first half, Drake took a 34-20 lead into intermisison. The Bison pulled within 47-43, before Ashley Bartow scored four straight with just under five minutes left to seal the win. Bartow contributed seven points, two rebounds in just nine minutes, while Jamie Van Kirk and Katie Birkel paced the Bison (3-6) with 12 and 11 points respectively.
The Bulldogs travel to Grand Forks, N.D. to face North Dakota (2-4) Saturday with tip-off at 2:05 p.m.
