Jason and Jill Paulsen, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a son, Royce Keith Paulsen, born at 8:03 a.m. Nov. 30 at MMSC. Royce joins big brother Lucas.

Pete and Lisa Peterson, of Rhodes, are the parents of a daughter, Presley Renae, born Nov. 27 weighing 5 pounds, 2 ounces and measuring 18.5 inches in length. Welcoming Presley home are big sisters: Paityn, 7, and Landrey, 4. Grandparents are: David and Connie Wendel, of Rhodes, and Darlene and the late Virgil Peterson, of Melbourne. Great grandparents are: Art and Vera Krampe, of Baxter, and Helen Wendel, of State Center.

On Wednesday, an employee with Walmart, 2802 S. Center St., reported the theft of merchandise in the amount of $100.84.

Arrests

On Thursday, Kristy Marie Ragsdale, 1111 W. Church St. Apt. #3, was arrested for operating while intoxicated-second offense.

On Wednesday, a female juvenile from Marshalltown was arrested for shoplifting.

On Wednesday, a Marshalltown juvenile female was arrested for shoplifting.

Friday

Rodney Lee Cooper, of San Diego, Calif., made an initial appearance on an extradition request from the State of Missouri. A waiver hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Dec. 12. No bond was allowed in this case.

Kristy Ragsdale, 1111 W. Church St. Apt. #3, made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-second offense charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Dec. 26. Ragsdale was released on her own recognizance. The court ordered that she obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days.

Eric Lopez, 404 Thunderbird Dr., made an initial appearance on a operation without registration charge and a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. On the operation without registration the fine was $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50, due immediately. The fine on the driving under suspension charge was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $87 in court costs for a total of $424.50, due immediately. The court allowed on both charges $50 monthly installment payments beginning Jan. 4, 2013, until the debt is paid.

Lester Mwirichia, 106 College Dr. #1207, made an initial appearance on a possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-marijuana charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Dec. 26. Mwirichia was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered that he obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days.

Terri Lee Mould, of Hampton, made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for arraignment on a criminal mischief-fourth degree charge. Mould will represent herself in this matter. The arraignment hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Dec. 17. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.
