AMES -The Marshalltown sophomore boys' basketball team was defeated by Ames on Friday, 58-41
Marco Yepez and Brandin Chaloupek led the Bobcats with 12 points apiece. Aaron Hauser chipped in nine points.
Marshalltown (1-6, 0-2) returns to action Tuesday when Southeast Polk comes to the Roundhouse.
MHS freshman girls get past Ames
AMES - Carrie Schmidt scored 21 points to lead the Marshalltown freshman girls' basketball team to a 48-33 win over host Ames on Thursday night.
The Bobcats (6-3) also got eight points from Ellyn Boland and seven from Lexi Gimbel.
MHS plays at home on Tuesday against Southeast Polk.
