DES MOINES - The Drake Bulldogs are now looking for a new volleyball coach after Tony Sunga stepped down Friday after two seasons.
"I want to thank Coach Sunga for his service to our volleyball program during his tenure at Drake," Director of Athletics Sandy Hatfield-Clubb said. "We appreciate the commitment that he made to the program, and wish he and his family the very best."
Grundy Center all-state senior Sam Meyers committed to the Bulldogs in October and told the T-R on Friday that she is still planning to honor that commitment.
Sunga went 14-47 in two seasons in Des Moines, going 5-24 this past year as the Bulldogs finished 4-14 in Missouri Valley Conference play.
