VINTON - The South Tama County Trojans traveled to Class 3A No. 1 Vinton-Shellsburg on Monday night and lost 72-23.
The Trojans were led by Vinny Lasley's eight points, while Sam Kuhter added 6 points. South Tama County dropped to 4-3 after the loss, while Vinton-Shellsburg remained unbeaten at 7-0.
Grant Sagan led Vinton-Shellsburg with 21 points and three rebounds, while Maxton Kearns and Kelyn Rickels each scored 11 points.
Vinton-Shellsburg led 16-3 after one quarter and held a 40-7 advantage at halftime.
