The GMG Dance Team members are organizing a special remembrance and benefit for victims of the Newtown massacre.
On Dec. 14, 20 children and six teachers were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
"The girls came up with the idea all on their own. It is just amazing that they want to do this for the people of Newtown," Dance Team Coach Angie Claassen said.

The event will take place in the GMG gym on Friday during the half time of the Varsity Boys game.
Green ribbons will be sold as a means of raising funds. Green is the school color in Newtown. Three-fourths of the proceeds will go to the Newtown victims and one fourth will go to the families of the two kidnapped and murdered Evansdale girls - Elizabeth and Lyric.
The deaths of children has had a great impact on the Dance Team members.
"We just wanted to do something. We will dance to 'All I Want For Christmas Is You.' This will be exactly one week from the massacre. There will also be a moment of silence and prayer," said Jenny Borota, GMG Dance Team member.
If you wish to donate to the fund and are unable to attend the game, you may send your contribution to: Ribbons for Newtown, GMG High School, 306 Park Street, Garwin, IA 50632.
