Blocker’s 150th win among trio of pins

NEVADA - The Class 1A No. 7-ranked West Marshall wrestling team improved to 11-5 with a 2-1 dual showing at Nevada on Tuesday night, highlighted by the 150th career victory for senior Kyle Blocker.

The Trojans sandwiched a loss to Boone (48-30) with wins over Gilbert (51-27) and the host Cubs (60-24).

Blocker was one of five West Marshall wrestlers to go 3-0 on the night, each collecting three pins apiece.

The top-ranked 138-pounder in Class 1A, Blocker won all three of his matches at 145 by first-period pin. He needed a total time of just 2 minutes, 14 seconds, to get through them, finishing with a 13-second flattening of Nevada's Dannon Anderson for the milestone win.

Blocker (23-0) is now 150-12 for his career.

Third-ranked Devin Chesler needed 3:49 to get through three pins at 170. Tanner Arnold, ranked ninth at 152, scored three first-period pins at 160, while Jared Johnson also tallied three pins at 152.
