Kerri Lee Underhill, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a possession of prescription drugs without a prescription charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Jan. 9.

Eric Michael Seymour, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a two counts of a burglary-third degree charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Jan. 9. Bond will continue as posted.

Jeanette Marie Smith, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance charge, a prohibited acts charge and a child endangerment without injury charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Jan. 9.

Christian Brandon Mason, 207 N. 13th St. Apt. #1, made an initial appearance on a burglary-third degree charge and a burglary-third degree aggravated charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Dec. 26. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

Roby Lee Meyer, of Cedar Rapids, made an initial appearance on a fraudulent use of a credit card charge, a possession of burglary tools-aggravated charge, five counts of burglary-third degree-enhanced charge and a ongoing criminal conduct charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Dec. 26. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. Upon release Meyer is to report to the Department of Correctional Services.

Kayla Ann Schrader, of Tama, made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a public intoxication charge. She pleaded guilty to both charges. On the possession of drug paraphernalia charge the fine was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due immediately. The fine on the public intoxication charge was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due immediately.

Matthew Eugene Vance, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a criminal mischief-fifth degree charge and a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. On the criminal mischief charge the fine was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due immediately. The fine on the public intoxication charge was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due immediately.

Andrew Clark Anderson, of Arizona City, Ariz., made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due immediately.

Incidents

On Thursday, an employee with Walmart, 2802 S. Center St., reported the theft of 36 miscellaneous items valued at $1,274.37.

On Wednesday, Carrie Marie Bown, 514 S. 4th St., reported a case of identity theft through the purchase of 15 Galaxy Note II and four Galaxy S III devices in the amount of $5,204.96.

On Wednesday, Linda Bailey, 501 N. Center St. (Half-Down), reported damage to a 3 foot by 3 foot double paned window at her residence and the theft of a PlayStation 3 game system and controller and a Toshiba laptop computer. Estimated value of loss was $1,228.

On Tuesday, Adam Needs, 511 W. Nevada St. Apt. #2, reported the theft of a Kink bicycle from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $350.

Citations

On Thursday, Nicholas Lee Streeter, 7 N. 13th St., was cited for operating while intoxicated.

On Thursday, a female juvenile from Marshalltown was cited for theft-second degree.

Accidents

On Friday, a vehicle driven by Emily Marie Bjelland, of Le Grand, was northbound on North Third Street and attempted to navigate around two stopped snow plows when it collided with a vehicle driven by Michelle Susan Novak, 2451B Sand Rd., which was traveling south on Third Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $2,000 each.

On Thursday, Nov. 29, a pickup driven by a male juvenile was in the parking lot at Marshalltown High School and had swung wide to enter a parking spot when a vehicle driven by a female juvenile attempted to pass and the two collided. No injuries were reported. Damage to the pickup was estimated at $700 while the vehicle received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

Tuesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two fire calls at 200 S. 12th Ave., and 312 E. Main St., and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 2013 Skyline Dr., and 402 N. 10th Ave.

Wednesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two fire calls to 1406 W. Church St., and 2819 Lincolnway, and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 201 N. 2nd Ave., 1711 S. 5th St., and 1400 Lincoln Towers Circle.

Friday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a fire at 711 N. 3rd Ave., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 303 E. Southridge Rd., 610 E. Linn St., 1211 W. State St., 707 E. Boone St., and 109 N. 3rd St.
