Iowa Care Packages went out just in time to be delivered before or on Christmas to deployed soldiers in combat jones around the world.
Besides soldiers in the field, we regularly ship Iowa Care Packages to the Hospital Chapel Staff, Craig Joint Theater Hospital and Bagram Air Field for distribution to injured soldiers.
Because of generous contribution during the 2012 calendar year, 678 Iowa Care Packages were sent to deployed military personnel in combat zones around the world. Iowa Care Package, Inc. will resume shipping activities in late January or February.
Ron and Connie Fisher delived this years last shipment of 36 Iowa Care Packages to the Marshalltown Post Office on Dec. 12 in time to arrive to the soldiers before Christmas.
Ron Fisher commented that "This year was absolutely amazing because the majority of donations to Iowa Care Package, Inc. primarily came from citizens, organizations and businesses in Marshalltown and surrounding communities, sending what they could send, when they could, with donations sprinkling in all year long."
"Iowa Care Package, Inc. is grateful for any and all donations received and are committed to use these donations prudently and wisely" with every dollar donated only used to purchase goods for Iowa Care Packages, at wholesale prices or less, and postage to ship Iowa Care Packages to deployed Soldiers in combat zones or in hospitals recovering from combat injuries. Iowa Care Package has no employees or pays any administration cost.
The success of Iowa care Package, Inc., totally depends on charitable contributors. The need for Iowa Care Packages continues. We continue to deploy fresh military personnel to Afghanistan. The largest problem for next year is obtaining deployed soldiers names. If you know of a deployed soldier and would like to share his contact information go to www.iowacarepackage.com.
