CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois made 12 3-pointers and four Salukis were in double-figures Saturday during the women's basketball team's 77-70 win over Drake.

Rishonda Napier was 5-for-7 from long range and scored 19 points with five assists, while Jordyn Courier (16), Cartaesha Macklin (13) and Jameeka Bouie (11) also scored in double-digits.

Macklin also had nine assists and eight rebounds as Southern Illinois (4-9, 1-1) led by seven at halftime and won by that same margin after both teams scored 42 second-half points.

The 12 triples was the difference in the game, but the Salukis also had a 36-12 advantage in the paint and won the game despite turning the ball over 21 times.

Drake shot just 37 percent from the floor and made just 3-of-16 from long range.

Mary Pat Specht led the Bulldogs (5-8, 0-2) with 12 points, while Alyssa Marschner added 10 points and four assists.

Morgan Reid had 10 rebounds to go along with her eight points.

Drake got within two with less than two minutes to play but Southern Illinois held the Bulldogs scoreless over the last 1:42 and went on to win by seven.
