Arrests

On Thursday, Pamela Bonk, age 52, of Grundy Center, was arrested in Grundy Center on a Black Hawk County warrant charging her with failure to serve jail time on a forgery charge. She was released to Black Hawk County authorities.

On Tuesday, Dana Garcia, age 44, of Muscatine, was arrested on Highway 14 south of 250th Street and charged with operating while intoxicated-second offense. Garcia posted bond and was released.

On Tuesday, Jamey Bayse, age 39, of Bonsall, Calif., was arrested in Dike for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bayse was released on promise to appear.

Accidents

On Thursday, a car driven by Michael Dewitt, age 56, of Gladbrook, was eastbound on Highway 175 east of Grundy Center when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Dewitt car was estimated at $5,000.

On Wednesday, a vehicle driven by Noel Spreeman, age 35, of Holland, was westbound on Highway 175 east of Grundy Center when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Spreeman vehicle was estimated at $3,500.

On Wednesday, a vehicle driven by Bethany Asnurty, age 25, of Gladbrook, was westbound on Highway 175 east of Grundy Center when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Asnurty vehicle was estimated at $1,500.

On Jan. 1, a vehicle driven by Ryan Adams, age 32, of Grundy Center, was eastbound on Highway 175 east of Grundy Center when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Adams vehicle was estimated at $1,800.

On Dec. 31, a vehicle driven by Jessica West, age 32, of Marion, was backing out of a parking stall on Blackhawk Street when it backed into a vehicle driven by Amy Morris, age 33, of Reinbeck, which was traveling north on Blackhawk. No injuries were reported. Damage to the West vehicle was estimated at $1,000 while the Morris vehicle received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

On Dec. 12, a semi driven by Kelly Lowery, age 48, of Ithaca, Mich., was eastbound on Highway 20 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Lowery semi was estimated at $3,000.

Ro Hlu Pui, 805 Woodbury St., made an initial appearance through a Burmese interpreter on a operating while intoxicated-second offense charge, a driving while revoked charge and a failure to maintain control charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Jan. 28. After being photographed and fingerprinted, Ro Hlu Pui was released on his own recognizance following a determination of sobriety made by the jail staff. The court ordered that he obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date.

Ronald Edward Draper, 2102 S. 3rd Ave., made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge, a driving under suspension charge, a failure to have a valid driver's license charge, an improper use of registration charge and a no insurance charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Jan. 28. Draper was released on his own recognizance.

Maria De Los Angeles Perez Busani, 104 W. Nevada St., made an initial appearance through a Spanish interpreter on a operating while intoxicated-second offense charge and a driving while revoked charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Jan. 28. Perez Busani was released on her own recognizance. The court ordered that she obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date.

On Monday, Brian Joseph Hatch, of Quarry, was arrested for drunkenness.

On Sunday, Maggi Rae Walker-Morgan, of Tama, was arrested for failure to appear.

On Friday, Brock Thomas Buck, of State Center, was arrested for simple assault.

On Friday, Matthew Grant Snyder, 604 S. 8th Ave., was arrested for failure to serve jail time.

On Friday, Ronald Edward Draper, 2102 S. 3rd Ave., was arrested for driving while revoked, driving under suspension, failure to prove security against liability, failure to have a valid driver's license and improper use of registration.

On Jan. 3, Reginald Keith Fields, of Ames, was arrested for driving under suspension.

On Dec. 29, Adam Joseph Becker, of Dubuque, was arrested for ongoing criminal conduct, attempted burglary-third degree, burglary-third degree, theft-second degree and criminal mischief-second degree.
