Donald Cavaness, 83, of Marshalltown, formerly of Atkinson, Neb., died on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, with his loving family surrounding him. Don had been residing at the Iowa Veterans Home for the past two weeks. Graveside services will be held for the family at Rock Valley Cemetery on Wednesday with Pastor Dick Sipe of First Baptist Church officiating. A Memorial service will be held at Faith Wesleyan Church in Atkinson, Neb., on Feb. 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the family and will be given to Wesleyan Missions Global Partners. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 61 years, Naomi, his children: Jolene (Harry) Carver, of Des Moines; Rhonda (Bob) Hendricks, of Marshalltown; Gail (Mark) Hendricks, of Marshalltown; Kim (Allen) Cheney, of Guthrie Center; Bart Cavaness, of Atkinson, Neb.; and Amy (Bryan) Hoffman, of Sidney, Neb.; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two little ones on the way; a brother, Glen (Maxine) Cavaness and five nieces and nephews.
