The Marshalltown boys' bowling team posted a number of season-bests in whipping Ankeny, 3,252-2,807 in Tuesday's CIML dual meet at Totem Bowl.
MHS junior Brett Wax posted personal-bests for games and a series, rolling 259-216-475 to lead all bowlers on the night. He was accompanied at the top by senior Dacoda Ewalt, who bowled a 194-266-460.
All five of the Bobcats' counting individual scores were in the 400s, as Matt Hannam shot 190-238-428, Aaron Schwandt rolled a 172-247-419 and Grant Whitmore added a 212-203-415.
The result was a season-best 2,197 individual total, and MHS followed it up with the year's top score of 1,055 in the Baker rounds for a season-leading 3,252 total.
"It was great to see them carry that momentum through to Bakers to capture also a season best Round 2," said Bobcat coach Jeremiah McKeever.
The Marshalltown girls fell 2,702-2,089 to the visiting Hawks. Ankeny was led by Jen Christianson's 202-212-414 series.
Marshalltown's junior-heavy lineup finished 502 pins down in individual play but rebounded for a season-best Baker game of 220 and total 1,322.
Tia Vergauwen rolled 156-163-319 and Lily Neuan a 132-138-270 to lead the Bobat girls.
Marshalltown's junior varsity boys' squad dispatched a shorthanded Ankeny group, 2,765-1,825 behind a 161-255-416 series from Floyd Speck.
The Bobcats go on the road Thursday for their third meet this week, facing Des Moines Lincoln at Bowlerama Lanes.
