Peg Davis could fill up a sheet of paper with the positive attributes of Grace Fisher, a fifth grade student in her class at Marshalltown Area Catholic School's St. Mary attendance center.

Davis said Fisher has a good head on her shoulders and strong work ethic.

"She's an enthusiastic learner who enjoys school," Davis said.

Grace Fisher, 11, is pictured in her fifth grade classroom at Marshalltown Area Catholic School last week.

Davis said Fisher shows good manners and is courteous to her fellow students.

"She also remains focused on the work," Davis said.

Fisher said she loves math and reading and feels school is important "to learn for when you get older you can get a job."

When she's not in school, Fisher enjoys tumbling, basketball and volleyball.
