PARKERSBURG - The West Marshall boys' basketball team had an eight-game winning streak snapped after Aplington-Parkersburg rallied back from a six-point deficit for a 51-44 victory in Tuesday's cross-NICL game.
West Marshall (14-3) led 40-34 entering the fourth quarter before the host Falcons outscored them 17-4 to collect their fifth win in their last six games.
A-P (10-5) was led by Dakota Cox with 15 points. Aaron VanDyk had 12 points, Kollin Cuvelier added 11 and Tyler Peters nine.
Duncan Ferch scored a game-high 20 points to go with eight rebounds to lead West Marshall. Christian Vis contributed nine points and seven rebounds, while Matt Van Metre added eight points and Clayton Green had six.
The Trojans are back at home on Friday for an NICL West Division showdown with Gladbrook-Reinbeck. It's also West Marshall's Coaches vs. Cancer game.
Hudson 81, East Marshall 49
HUDSON - Isaiah Rustad scored a career-high 32 points as Hudson handed East Marshall its fifth consecutive loss, an 81-49 setback in Tuesday's cross-NICL contest.
Connor Wrage added 14 points and Antwain Strong had 11 for the Pirates (12-3), who led 42-21 at the half.
Mitch Berry scored 17 points to pace East Marshall (2-14). Ben Terrones and Josh Wilson both contributed 11 points while Walker Steward had eight.
The Mustangs are back in action Friday with their final NICL West Division home game against South Hardin.
Wapsie Valley 76, South Tama 52
FAIRBANK - Jason Schneider scored 17 points and Mitchell Boevers added 16 as Wapsie Valley (9-6) ran away with a 76-52 victory over South Tama in cross-NICL action.
The Warriors led 24-10 after the first quarter and 46-26 at the half in cruising to the win.
Sam Kuhter led South Tama (6-9) with 14 points, while Grant Koch had 11 points and seven rebounds. Jose Fonseca chipped in eight points for the Trojans, who host BCLUW in NICL West Division play Friday.
Colo-NESCO 57, Don Bosco 32
GILBERTVILLE - Brandyn Niemeyer had 19 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists in leading the Colo-NESCO boys to a 57-32 rout of Don Bosco in Iowa Star Conference play.
Jake Webb added 13 points, Adam Lytle had 10 points and seven rebounds, and Cole Osbun added seven points for the Royals (12-7, 10-4). J.T. Adams helped out with five points and seven boards as well.
Brady Thome led Don Bosco (7-7, 7-6) with nine points. The Dons suffered their fourth consecutive loss.
Colo-NESCO hosts GMG in Iowa Star play Friday night.
