A threat of a bomb was found Tuesday written on a restroom stall at Marshalltown High School. Local police and school officials evaluated the message and found that the threat was unfounded.
Students remained safe and in classes as normal after the threat was found, according to information released by the school district.
"We will treat all threats as serious and investigate them thoroughly, as the safety and security of our students is a top priority," MHS Principal Aiddy Phomvisay wrote in a letter to parents. "We strive to provide a safe, nurturing learning environment for all students."
There was an additional threat made online which school administration was made aware of Tuesday night. It was from a student who made a threat of bringing a weapon to school to harm himself and others. Police made contact with the student and his family Tuesday night.
