The 20th annual Girls' Marshalltown Optimist Basketball Invitational (MOBI) will be played Saturday at two Miller Middle School gymnasiums and the Lenihan gym.

There are 24 teams entered in this year's event over three age divisions between grades 5-8, including six teams from Marshall County.

Marshalltown has two teams entered, according to event chairman Larry Park. The sixth-grade team will be coached by Trecy Brennecke, and a seventh-grade squad will be coached by Tim Johnson.

West Marshall has three teams: the fifth-grade team is coached by Brian Disney; the seventh-grade team is coached by Kristin Porter, and the eighth-grade squad is headed by Loren Green.

East Marshall's eighth-grade team is captained by Mark Fricke.

Games on Saturday will begin at 8 a.m. and end around 10 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for students, and is good for all day at each gymnasium.

The 28th annual Boys' MOBI will be held Feb. 16-17, and openings remain for the Feb. 4 deadline.
