TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Taylor Whitley scored 10 points to become the 26th member of Indiana State's 1,000-point club and the Indiana State women's basketball team buried Drake 59-48 in Sunday's Missouri Valley Conference clash.

Whitley was one of four double-digit scorers for the Sycamores, who improved to 12-1 this season when outrebounding their opponent. Indiana State (14-8, 6-5) also ranks 21st in the country in allowing just 52.9 points per game.

Drake's Kyndal Clark scored a game-high 20 points to go with six steals, but the Bulldogs (7-15, 2-9) could not overcome 30 turnovers in suffering their third loss in a row.

Indiana State led by as many as 21 points in the game, getting out to a 40-19 lead less than 5 minutes into the second half after taking a 31-13 advantage into the break. Any chance of a Drake comeback was doomed by a 32 percent shooting performance.

The two teams combined to commit 47 fouls while attempting 54 free throws. The Sycamores also scored a 35-29 lead in rebounding.

Racheal Mahan led Indiana State with 15 points and seven rebounds, Marina Laramie and Anna Munn both had 11 points and Whitley added 10.

Ashley Bartow was Drake's only other double-digit scorer, netting 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Morgan Reid had six points, six boards and five steals before fouling out.

The Bulldogs come back home for their next two games, starting Thursday against Wichita State at 7:05 p.m. Missouri State visits the Knapp Center at 4 p.m. Saturday in a game that be televised by Mediacom.
