Bobby "Bob" Hinmon, 83, of Marshalltown passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 at his home.

Bob was born January 25, 1930 in New Sharon, Iowa to Merrill and Mary (Smeeth) Hinmon. He grew up in the New Sharon and Oskaloosa area and graduated from New Sharon High School in 1947. Following graduation, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy and served until his honorable discharge in 1950. Bob married Dorothy Edna Mulvihill on October 7, 1951. They continued to reside in the Oskaloosa area.
Bob was employed at Chicago Northwestern Railroad from 1951 until his retirement in 1989. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing the lottery.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years, Dorothy; sons: Michael (Dorene) and James (Linda) of Marshalltown; grandchildren: Carrie (Joe) Richards of California, Maryland, Wyatt (Angie) Manship of Marshalltown, Breanna (Dan Dehrkoop) Hinmon of Ottumwa and Ryan Hinmon of Marshalltown and great grandchildren: Tori, Bailee, Emma, Lilly and Triston Richards of Maryland and Kohl and Paige Manship of Marshalltown.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Patrick John Hinmon in 2009; brother, Jim Hinmon and sister, Marilyn Jean Northcutt.
