WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Hawkeyes simply have Purdue's number.

The University of Iowa women's basketball team ended a five-game losing streak by beating the Boilermakers for the second time this season, knocking off No. 18 Purdue 72-52 on Sunday at Mackey Arena.

It marked the Hawkeyes' first on Purdue's home court since Feb. 6, 1998, ending the Boilers' string of 12 in a row at home in the series.

Sophomore guard Samantha Logic scored a career-high 26 points - 13 in each half - to propel Iowa to the convincing victory, though none of her scoring came in a 13-2 run to close out the victory. The Hawkeyes (17-10, 6-7) held Purdue without a point for better than 5 minutes to take their lead from nine to 22 points, with Taylor Manuel's layup with 8 seconds left banking the Boilermakers' only score inside the final 5:17.

Theairra Taylor tallied her second career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Morgan Johnson added 12 points and five blocked shots in her school-record 122nd career start.

Melissa Dixon chipped in all of her 10 points off the bench in the second half, including a critical 3-pointer with the shot clocking running out during Iowa's finishing surge.

Logic added nine rebounds, and Jaime Printy had a team-high six assists while scoring just five points as Iowa improved to 7-1 against ranked opponents this season.

Sam Ostarello led Purdue (19-6, 8-4) with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Drey Mingo added 14 ponits and KK Houser had 12.

The Boilermakers outrebounded Iowa 39-33 but made 15 turnovers to the Hawkeyes' eight while shooting just 32 percent from the floor.

Iowa netted 50 percent of its shots and went 13-for-15 at the free-throw line. The Hawkeyes beat Purdue twice by an average of 18 points.

Up next for Iowa will be Sunday's road game at Nebraska.
