CHICAGO - Illinois State senior guard Tyler Brown is one of 16 finalists nominated for the State Farm Dark Horse Dunker competition, and the winner will participate in the Denny's Slam Dunk Competition on April 4 at the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships in Atlanta.

The Dark Horse Dunker competition is a knockout bracket on Facebook, with fans determining which player advances. Voting is currently being conducted at facebook.com/CollegeSlam.

Brown, a two-time All-American at Marshalltown Community College, is better known for his 3-point shooting as he leads the Illinois State men's basketball team with 54 triples while also averaging 16.7 points per game. The 6-foot-4 guard's highlight reel on the Facebook page shows off his high-rising abilities as well.

The current round of 16 will accept votes through Sunday.

The winner of the Dark Horse Dunker competition has moved on to win the Denny's Slam Dunk Competition each of the last two years. James Justice of Martin Methodist College was last year's winner and Jacob Tucker of Illinois College prevailed in 2011.
