Nadine Fricke, 93, of State Center and formerly of Baxter passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the State Center Nursing and Rehab Center in State Center. Visitation will be on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at the Baxter Community Center in Baxter. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 206 1st Avenue South, State Center, IA. Burial will be in the Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
Nadine Nellie Fricke was born on December 3, 1919 to Merle and Mary (Miller) Warner in Rural Jasper County. She attended Baxter Community Schools and graduated in 1940. Nadine married Frederick Fricke on May 22, 1940 and they resided northwest of Baxter where they farmed together and raised their family. Nadine was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and fishing.
Those left to cherish Nadine's loving memories are her children, Shirley (Dave) Norton, Fred (Hazel) Fricke, Kathy (Ken) Potter and Dale (Kathy) Fricke; 9 grandchildren, Lori (Mike) Cross, Duane Norton, Mike Fricke, Debbie (Larry) Gilmore, Krista (Matt) Berthusen, Brian (Stacia) Potter, Todd (Lori) Fricke, Marcus (Cheryl) Fricke and Eric Fricke; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Pat Horsman, Catherine Osborn and Margie Loupee; 3 brothers, Richard Warner, Robert Warner and Ronald Warner and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Nadine was preceded in death by; her parents; husband; grandson Charles Lee Fricke; sister Donna; brothers, Frank, Edward, Commodore and Gerald.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family so they may distribute memorials in Nadine's name to various local organizations. Fredregill Family Funeral Home in Baxter has been entrusted with the care of Nadine and her family.
