DES MOINES - Double-double efforts by Kyndal Clark and Morgan Reid were more than enough to guide the Drake women's basketball team to an easy win over last-place Southern Illinois on Thursday night.

Clark hit 5-of-9 from 3-point range and finished with 20 points and 10 assists, while Reid's 13 points and 16 rebounds added even more to an 80-65 victory over the Salukis at the Knapp Center.

"So proud of our effort again tonight," Drake coach Jennie Baranczyk said. "We talked in the locker room how when we are on and focused and having fun we are a very good basketball team. We did a good job of limiting SIU's runs tonight. It was a big focus coming in."

The Bulldogs had 22 assists to their 30 buckets, out-rebounded Southern Illinois by six and also got 16 points from Ashley Bartow in improving to 5-12 in league play this season. Southern Illinois is now 4-24 overall and 1-16 in MVC play.

"Seeing 22 assists to 30 baskets is really big," Baranczyk said. "We also got two big double-double performances tonight from our leaders. I am so proud of their efforts."

Drake led by five at the break but used a 9-2 run to open the second half to put even more distance on its lead. The lead grew as large as 20 midway through the final half and the Bulldogs maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way.

The Bulldogs shot 50 percent from the floor, buried seven 3-pointers and got 27 points from their bench, led by Alyssa Marschner's eight points and Mary Pat Specht's seven.

Clark has now scored at least 20 points in nine games this season. Thursday was the first time she recorded a double-double with points and assists.

Southern Illinois was led by Cartaesha Macklin's 21 points and seven assists. Rishonda Napier also had 15 points and Dyana Pierre pulled down 12 rebounds in a losing effort. The Salukis shot just 35 percent from the floor and were 4-of-13 from long range.

Drake concludes its regular season Saturday at home against Evansville. The Bulldogs will honor their lone senior - Stephanie Running - prior to and after the game. Tip-off is set for 2:05 p.m. at the Knapp Center.
