Harold B. Small, of Collingswood, New Jersey, passed away, on Feb. 25, 2013 at the age of 77.
Harold graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1953. During his high school years, Harold played drums in the high school pep band and also played drums with Armon Adams dance band.
In Harold's younger years, he carried newspapers for the TImes-Republican. During that time he won three years straight for best carrier. Harold was a Korean Conflict U.S. Army drummer in the Army 324th band in Maryland.
Surviving is his wife, Mary K., a son Harold B. Small Jr., his sisters Kathleen (Small) Hoffman, of New Providence, and Dorothy (Small) Morrison, of Ames. He is preceded in death by his parents Lyle and Edna Small, his daughter Susan A. Costello and a sister Mary (Small) Paxson.
