ST. LOUIS - Northern Iowa senior Jacqui Kalin is a first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference honoree for the third time in her career.
Kalin is leading the conference at 19.4 points per game and is the all-time leading scorer at Northern Iowa with 2,002 points and the all-time leader in 3-pointers made with 252.
It is the 13th time that the Panthers have had at least one player selected to the MVC first team.
She joins only Allison Starr, Amy Swisher and Alex Cook as other three-time first-team selections.
Kalin also was a five-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week honoree.
Also garnering all-conference recognition on Wednesday was Hannah Schonhardt, who was named to the MVC all-Freshman team. It is the seventh time in UNI history that a freshman has been recognized but Schonhardt is the first since K.K. Armstrong landed on the all-freshman squad in 2009.
Schonhardt is averaging 7.6 points per game and has scored in double-figures eight times this season. The freshman from Minnesota has put on a late surge in conference play, scoring at least 10 points in six of the last 11 games.
The Panthers will return to action Friday when they take on Indiana State during the quarterfinals of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament. Tip-off for the women's game will take place at 2:35 p.m at Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
