Charles Waltemeyer

Charles "Ole" Waltemeyer died Friday, March 15, 2013, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m, Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Melbourne. There will be no visitation. The Main Street Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes is assisting the Waltemeyer family. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com.

Ole was born to Charles F. and Dora Klatt Waltemeyer in Melbourne on August 4, 1924. He was a lifelong resident of Melbourne. After graduating from Melbourne High School in 1941 he farmed east of Melbourne until his retirement. He sold DeKalb seed corn and beans for 35 years. He was married to Doris Mahurin on November 30, 1948 in Mexico, Missouri. Charles was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and held various offices while on the consistory. He was on the Cemetery Association Board for 40 years, a lifetime member of the Aberdeen Angus Association and an honorary member of the West Marshall FFA.

Ole is survived by two sons, Dennis (Robbie) Waltemeyer of Marble Falls, TX, David (Lorraine) Waltemeyer of Hamilton, MO and a daughter, LeeAnn ( Russ) Pothast of Pflugerville, TX. Also surviving are five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a sister, Norma Boyle of Conrad. Preceding him in death was his loving wife of 61 years, two brothers, Robert and Herbert and eight half brothers and sisters.
