Marshalltown Police Department

Arrests

On Sunday, Michael Sexson, 601 E. Church St. Apt. #3, was arrested for possession of marijuana-third or subsequent offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal mischief-fifth degree.

On Sunday, Dolphus M. Coleman, 522 N. 1st St., was arrested for domestic assault-third offense.

On Sunday, Devin George Thul, of Algona, was arrested for unlawful possession of a prescription drug, public intoxication and public urination.

On Sunday, Chad Bryant, 305 Rainbow Dr., was arrested for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-marijuana-enhanced and interference with official acts.

On Sunday, Cody Lutzen, of Ames, was arrested for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-marijuana.

On Friday, Justin Lee Davis, 2306 Yates Ave., was arrested for interference with official acts and public intoxication.

On Friday, Diego Villa-Magana, 7 S. 7th Ave., was arrested for operating while intoxicated-first offense.

On Friday, Troy Vincent Corwin, 10 1/2 W. Grant St., was arrested for public intoxication.

On Friday, Jimmy Santino Lubari, 134 E. Main St. Apt. #324, was arrested for public intoxication.

Incidents

On Monday, Susan Lee Anderson, 2763 Garwin Rd., reported hit and run damage to the passenger side of a 2012 Buick Enclave as she was sideswiped while in the left turning lane at First Avenue and State Street. Estimated value of damage was $800.

On Friday, Carlos Medina Angel, 512 Bromley St., reported hit and run damage to the bumper area on a Dodge Durango while parked at his residence. Estimated value of damage was $300.

Accidents

On Sunday, a car driven by David Pernay Harrell, 504 E. Linn St., was northbound in the inside lane on South Third Avenue when it attempted to go around a car driven by Javier Ayala, 303 Sharon Ave, and collided with it as it was stopped waiting to turn into an alleyway. No injuries were reported. Harrell was cited for failure to stop within an assured distance and Ayala was cited for failure to have valid permit or driver's license. Damage to the Harrell car was estimated at $5,000 while the Ayala car received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

On Sunday, a car driven by Luis Gabriel Guajardo, 504 Bromley St., was northbound on South Third Avenue when it struck a legally parked vehicle and left the scene. No injuries were reported. Guajardo was cited for striking unattended vehicle.

On Friday, a car driven by Collin Michael James Hirl, of Olin, was exiting the Walmart parking lot area turning left onto South Center Street when it pulled out in front of a car driven by Connor Case, of Conrad, causing a collision. Passenger Kelly Louann Colehour, of Anamosa, was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with injuries. Hirl was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $5,000 each.

Court

Wednesday

Sean Noel, 3 N. 9th St., made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on April 23 in Magistrate Court. The court appointed Michael Marquess to represent Noel in this case. Bond will continue as posted pending the conclusion of this case.

Jorge Albeto Ibanez, 601 Lee St., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, a driving under suspension charge, a no driver's license charge and an improper use of lanes charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on April 8.

Yvette Villarreal, 319 N. 11th Ave., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred-habitual offender charge, a no insurance charge, an operation without registration charge, a no driver's license charge and a driving under suspension charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on April 8. Villarreal was released on her own recognizance.

Steven Alvarez, 501 Thomas Dr. Apt. East, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due immediately. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning April 18 until the debt is paid.

Kerry Fleming, of Toledo, made an initial appearance on a aggravated domestic abuse assault charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on March 29. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. The court ordered that if he possessed any firearms or ammunition he is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff's Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Marshalltown Fire Department

March 14

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a call to 200 W. Hibbs Boulevard, and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1004 S. 2nd St., 1212 W. Main St., 103 N. 16th St., and 200 S. 7th St.

Friday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two calls to 507 E. Church St., and 2802 S. Center St., three fire calls to: 911 Jackson St., 101 W. Iowa Ave., and 506 Eastview Dr., and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 101 W. Iowa Ave., and 916 E. Main St.

Saturday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a medical assist with the EMS crew to 202 N. 2nd Ave.

Sunday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 710 E. Main St., 1001 S. 11th Ave., and 3202 S. 12th St.
