Teacher trusts Lenihan student to help others

Fifth grader likes to be challenged

She doesn't have the title of teacher's assistant, but Lenihan Intermediate School fifth grader Madi Finch easily could have it.

"If anybody has a question and I'm busy they go to Madi," said her teacher Sally Jansen.

"They trust her and I trust her."

Madi Finch, 11, is a fifth grader at Lenihan Intermediate School.

Finch, 11, said she takes her school work seriously.

"I want to get into a good college and get a job," she said.

Her favorite subject is math because "it's fun and challenging."

Jansen feels Finch has a bright future if she continues to take responsibility for her work.
