Angela and James Christensen, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a son, Julian James Christensen, born Feb. 8 at 9:54 a.m. at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center weighing 7 pounds and 6 ounces and measuring 21 inches long. Julian joins siblings Nile, 8, and Grace, 3. Grandparents are Jane and Rob Christensen, of Rhodes; David and Leanne Kilker, of Marshalltown, and the late Bonnie Kilker. Great-grandparents are Robert and Bonnie Christensen, of Marshalltown; Donna and Alan Rutenbeck, of Baldwin; the late Darlene and the late Jim Brezina; and the late Mary and the late Donald Kilker.

Kayla and Shawn Merschbrock, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a son, Zaiden Alexander-James Merschbrock, born March 29 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Zaiden joins brother Riley and Weston. Grandparents are Viola Albee, Johnny Merschbrock, Steve and Tiffany Mobley and Stephannie Wright.

Tim and Stephanie Thomas, of Albion, are the parents of a daughter, Dakota Maxine Thomas, born at 12:21 p.m. on March 28 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Welcoming Dakota home are big sisters Raylynn and Brooke Thomas. Grandparents are Bill and Deb Thomas and Chris and Gail Keeler.

Monday

Richard Dolan III, 521 N. 1st St. Apt. #1, made an initial appearance on a violation of pre-trial release charge and a violation of a no-contact order charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The contempt hearing is set for 10 a.m. on April 15. A pre-trial conference is still set for 1:30 p.m. on May 3 with a trial set for 9 a.m. on May 9. Bond for both charges is set at $2,000 cash only. The court ordered that if Dolan possessed any firearms or ammunition he is to make arrangements with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office to surrender them until the conclusion these cases. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Luis Madrigal-Roman, 806 Bromley St., made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on May 7 in Magistrate Court. Bond was set at $300 cash only.

David Charles Smith, 1401 S. 17th Ave., made an initial appearance on a probation revocation charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. A hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. on April 17. No bond was allowed in this case.

Tim Leavy, 1004 S. 5th Ave., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred-habitual offender charge and a failure to appear for a contempt hearing on unpaid fines charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The contempt hearing is rescheduled for 9 a.m. on April 26 in Magistrate Court. A preliminary hearing for the driving while barred charge is scheduled for 1 p.m. on April 12. Bond on the contempt charge was set at $2,492.55 cash only while the bond for the driving while barred charge was $2,000 cash or surety.

A 15-year-old female from Marshalltown made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days of today's date. The court allowed for 46 hours of community service in lieu of the fine and surcharge plus the payment of court costs.
