ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Buffalo Bisons belted out 16 hits and handed the Rochester Red Wings their third loss in as many meetings to start the Triple-A baseball season, winning 9-2 Saturday at Frontier Field.
Marshalltown native Jeff Clement, batting fifth as the designated hitter for Rochester, went 2-for-2 with two walks, a run scored and a strikeout before being lifted for a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the ninth.
Clement is batting .222 (2-for-9) through his first three games as a member of the Minnesota Twins organization. The Twins signed Clement, the third overall selection of the Seattle Mariners in the 2005 draft, to a minor league contract in the offseason.
Rochester and Buffalo close out their season-opening series with today's 12:05 p.m. game.
